Disco Night Event Deets!

The White House, circa 1965, the year Canada adopted it’s flag. It was known to be THE HOT SPOT in Renfrew during the disco era. This print is of an original painting by local artist, Joanne Beattie-Kalimeris, and is one of the donated silent auction items.

What can you expect to experience at Coco Jarry’s on Saturday, January 19th? Well, we haven’t a crystal ball (yet we DO have a mirrored ball for that evening!) and while we can’t predict the future, we CAN tell you what we have planned and whom we need to thank for making it all possible…

Disco Night at Coco’s for charity

DJ Mitch will be spinning REAL vinyl from 5-10pm and has volunteered his time, equipment, skills and vinyl collection to the cause. We invite every guest to engage in the event as much as they wish to in whatever ways they feel most comfortable.

For those who simply want to come for dinner, Nick has created a specially themed menu (such as, Disco Dancing Chicken and Retro Burger) and will be donating a portion of food sales that night to the Foundation.

For those who really want to get into character, we will have a best disco dressed contest and a dance-off competition! With a chance to win a fantastic prize, you can justify some time to digging deep in your closets and practicing your disco dance moves this week.

Silent Auction

We’re so happy and grateful to have received these big ticket items to include in the silent auction operating that night:

  1. Specially made wine rack from Delaurier Custom Cabinets
  2. One night for two in the Calabogie Highands‘ jacuzzi suite & 2 x 18-hole green fees
  3. THREE prints by talented local artist, Joanne Kalimeris, who took the time to research before creating these pieces of Renfrew’s history and culture, from oldest to latest:
    1. O’Brien Theatre, circa 1957. (11″ x 14.75″)
    2. The Renfrew Hotel, circa 1965. Destroyed by fire in 1967. (11″ x 8″)
    3. The White House, circa 1965. (15″ x 11″)
